I have the same problem. I am reading a book now that I got last year for Christmas...and I asked for (and got) 5 new books this year. Count of Monte Cristo is great.
Enjoy.

I made a promise to myself fifteen years ago to read a classic book ('classic' to me is a very broad term) every summer, since the summers were when I had the most free time to read. GWTW was first on my list. It took me all summer, but I did it. Not bad for a 15 year old.

Good luck with your resolution!

I had that resolution a few years back. I still have a bookshelf for the unfinished, and I just bought The Lazarus Project and Every Day Drinking a couple months back.

Something something intensions something something astray something Steinbeck is over-quoted.

Oh and I forgot, I looked up 5k runs in the area? There seems to be almost one a month around here! And the running group I joined, the girl that runs the class is into Marathons, I guess there are some coming up in June and July she says I can train with her for... pretty cool I'll keep you posted.

Actually I started reading: "The Power of Now" by Eckahart Tolle. I've had it on my shelf and its one of the books for some reason I shipped over here, so I figure it wants to be read.

I'd never heard of Murakami, but I read his interview with Runners World after reading the quote on your site, he seems pretty amazing.

BTW I stole your quote for my blog ;) Smooches!

GWTW?! Gasp! I read that book in highschool probably 15 times. Love it :) I want to read the Murakami book! I discovered him this year (thanks to the Hipster) and adore him. And the Lolita in Tehran book is tough to get through but good - read it for a book club a few years back. Good luck :)
