Note:  Rambling Post Ahead.

So, I take the day off.  Again.  My sick boy gets cured, and with some Motrin and Vitamin C drops announces that he can go to school.  So, here I sit with a day off.  Well, not really.

This did cinch it for me.  I could not stay at home.  Three loads of laundry, and a 30 minute walk with the dogs, and it’s 11:30.  I am trying to follow the advice of Robby and am trying to watch Pan’s Labyrinth.  Somehow this is supposed to inspire me.  He also advised that I watch Teachers again.  Need I remind you, that in 1984, Teachers came out as I was teaching my third class of sixth graders.  Yeah, I’ve been around.
Teachers is horribly outdated, but here is my most favorite line:

Dr. Donna Burke: We, the board members present, think that you should tender your resignation.
Alex Jurel: My resignation? What for?
Dr. Donna Burke: Because, Mr. Jurel, no one here wants to go through the pain of firing you.

Pan’s Labyrinth?  Not so much.  I don’t get it.  Plus, I am a multi-tasker, and in order to watch this movie, I have to WATCH THIS MOVIE (it’s in subtitles).  So, I’ll make some lunch, and eat it elsewhere, because that guy with the eyeballs in his hands made me want to hurl.

Carmen: You’re getting older, and you’ll see that life isn’t like your fairy tales. The world is a cruel place. And you’ll learn that, even if it hurts.

Edit:  I just finished this movie.  I cannot speak.  Beautiful.

  1. Pan’s Labyrinth is one of my all time favorite movies. It does take a bit to get into, but once you’re there – you’re hooked. The girl in the movie was amazing to me.
