We are (almost) officially a year old.  Last Halloween, we started running.  We’ve been running in the morning all throughout the summer.  Tonight was the first night run at 5:45.  Last night I had a nasty bout of food poisoning, but I had convinced Kim that we couldn’t run at 5AM any longer, due to the dark.  So, I felt like I owed her that.  I had the whole day off of work *(again)* to recover, so I thought I would be okay.

It was only 80, so not bad, but after last night’s trials, I was a little, um…weak.  However, I couldn’t NOT run.  I had put Kim off long enough.  I guess that’s how I know I want to keep doing this.

Here are the details, and we walked 10 minutes…I was dying over the last overpass, but came on strong at the end.  Thank God for my barista at Starbucks, who as I ran in, quickly got me a water.  I love that place!

  1. For some reason night runs scare the poo outta me. I don’t know why because it’s the same type of dark in the early AM hrs as well LOL

  2. Ain’t it funny how the night moves?

I love night runs, but I’m talking more like 7-8-9 p.m., when, you know, it’s dark.

Stay reflective and stay running! Cheers.

  3. Great pace on your hills!! Keep it up. I’m a morning runner too, I’m actually going to do a night run tonight, it was pouring down rain this morning 😦 I prefer the morning, get it over and done with!
