Well, it was bound to happen.

Every time we run, I tear off my shirt within the first 30 seconds.  Saturday, I was wearing that long sleeved dry wicking shirt that I picked up last year on my way to LA…when I couldn’t run the Half Marathon in Fresno, I picked up the shirt anyway.  Kim and I were just talking about how it’s really not cool to wear a shirt from a race you didn’t run.

…anyway, the shirt is usually left on the sidewalk, behind a bush, something.  And, it’s never been taken.  Until Saturday.  I guess that’s the bad karma I get for my tangerine obsession.

It’s all good…but it was a good shirt.

*Update:  Fresno Race Officials emailed me today that since I didn’t run the race, I could do it in November.  I will add it to my tentative plan.

Date: 1/19/2009 1:45 PM

Course: Vera Starbucks
Distance: 3.02 miles
Duration: 33:09
Pace: 10:59 / mile
Shoe: Mizuno Wave Renegade 4

Statistics: Calories: 418
VO2 Max: 26.3

Tangerines=2, Oranges=2

Today’s mantra.  When it got hard, I just repeated the word *strong* on every left step.  It was hot.  64.  Wow, I felt good though, even though I’m slowing down.

Now, to all the bloggers out there:  Kim and I have decided to go *official*, and get an official shirt.  We started our little race debacle on Halloween 2007, and have chosen tangerine (natch) and black as our colors.

Now we just need a name.  A name.  Ideas?  We are from Ripon, and then best we could do today was, “Ripon Running Club”.  Too boring.  Any ideas would be appreciated!!

  1. I thought you were going to say the email was asking you not to wear the shirt since you didn’t run the race.

Ripon Running has good alliteration and is ripe for some good slogans.

  2. You could go with the boring name and include a catchy slogan…The running club I psuedo belong to, you know the one ran by the infamous Venus… the back says “we run this town”

Get me a shirt too, since I will be running with you soon!
