This morning’s run called for 5 miles, as we have our Elk Grove 10K this Sunday.  Forgetting that it’s dark at 5:30am, we took off to our favorite square run around the city.  Many places we are familiar with were VERY dark. 

Dueling Banjos brought me up the overpass, and after a quick stop at Mile 2, I started back out past the truck stop.  On to the short strip of grass.  Without any lights except the trucker passing us, I didn’t see the copper pipe sticking out, and I fell.  Again.  On the same knee. 
It hurt, and Kim says, “Let’s just go home”.  But we were already 2.5 miles away.  My whole side of the leg was wet, so I knew I was bleeding.

I also knew I had no choice but to keep running.  It felt great, and I am loving this training, even though it’s tough.

Oh look.  Another metaphor.  🙂
