Tomorrow.

Tomorrow starts my Nike Women’s Marathon training at the MJC track in Modesto.  I’m scared, nervous, but excited.

I cannot imagine what the next six months will be like, but I’m ready.  I’m ready to move along.

This is why I love Twitter.  I got a Direct Message from someone in town who saw I was running, and he sent me the phone number, the email and the person’s address.

Kim won’t be running Cowtown, which is the other marathon that goes with TNT.  She’s put up with my bullying long enough, and she said no.  She will, however, train with me.

I am really looking forward to starting the next running chapter…It all starts with my nephew and me at Mile 20 in the LA Marathon.  I really wanted to volunteer at a race this summer.  I picked Mile 20 because of this quote:

The marathon’s about being in contention over the last 10K.  That’s when it’s about what you have in your core.  You have run all the strength, all the superficial fitness out of yourself, and it really comes down to what’s left inside you.  To be able to draw deep and pull something out of yourself is one of the most tremendous things about the marathon.~Rob de Castella.

I want to be there for that…

PS-I’m really sick of this green blog but I can’t do CSS on it.  Loving the fonts, etc.  The color?  Puke!

  1. Good luck on the training and the actual race.
I will be following you on Twitter.

  2. Are you running the Nike full?? Omg, congrats!! Still debating if I should run with the club to get an entry. I might do the half… maybe? Also, I’m interested in doing the Cowtown… is that the same weekend? I need something flat!

  3. yeah, starting training is always so much fun! I love the running quote, the last 10K is always so difficult.

  4. The things a lady will do for a Fireman in a Tux offering a Tiffany Necklace! LOL You’ll do great and I’ll be following your progress along the way. Was thinking I’d do the Marine Corps Marathon this season but I did hear Men run Nike at our info session. Always thought it was Women Only…

  5. You’re going to do just fine. All it takes is the determination and you have that in spades!
